FAQs

  • Virtual book media tours have evolved in the book publicity world. Previously, authors would contract separate media tours - including a TV or Satellite Media Tour, a Radio Media Tour, a Print Media Tour, and/or a Podcast Media Tour. Today, we’ve taken a novel approach and combined all of these elements into one to create a Virtual Media Tour where you can collect the best audiences from a variety of media platforms all at once. Moreover, since most interviews take place by phone or over platforms such as Zoom or Skype, authors can conduct the interviews from their home or office.

  • After a discovery call, we work with you to identify the ideal marketing mix for your book. If we’re looking for niche audiences - we might advocate for more podcasts that cover your topic? Other books might be more visual and better suited for a television audience. We work with you to develop the most effective bridge to your audience.

  • It will take about 6 to 8 weeks from the time you contact us to your first interviews, giving us ample time to create a media plan, develop appropriate press materials, and reach out to the media. But, if necessary, we are also able to work on a much tighter schedule. We offer a set-it-and-forget-it approach. Gemini does all the outreach for you and will keep you posted about any updates as the pitching process proceeds.

  • Our experience in the newsroom gives us unique insight into what producers, bookers, and hosts are looking for in their guests. Since we can hone in on the best angles to catch their attention, we’ve placed our authors on Nationally Syndicated and Local News shows on all the TV networks, National and Local NPR outlets, and top-market radio programs, as well as Podcasts covering genre-specific categories.

  • Approximately a week before your virtual media tour, you’ll receive a comprehensive schedule with all the necessary information to connect you to your interviews. We'll be present to guide you through the day(s) and remain available to address any issues that may arise.

  • We can assist you in refining your messaging so that you can discuss your book on any platform. Our tips, key talking points, and preparation for potentially challenging questions will help equip you for success.

  • Creating effective press materials for your book is essential. We can help craft messaging that will make you stand out to hosts including a media alert, Q&A, and talking points.

  • Indie authors often promote their books through a mix of strategies, including online advertising, social media engagement, direct reader outreach, and the help of professional services like book marketing and author publicity services. At Gemini Publicity, we support indie authors with structured campaigns tailored to their goals and target audience.

  • Start by identifying your book’s core message and audience. Then, use tools like press releases, blog features, podcast interviews, and book reviews to build visibility. Working with a book publicity agency like Gemini Publicity can streamline the process and get your book in front of the right people.

  • To stand out, it’s important to invest time in book marketing for authors and consistent outreach. Focus on getting reviews, using social media effectively, and building relationships with readers and influencers. Publicity services for indie authors can significantly improve your reach.

  • It starts with a professional presentation, strong cover design, an edited manuscript, and a compelling pitch. Having local media coverage, reviews, and a clear marketing plan in place increases your chances. A book publicist can also help you prepare the right materials and connections.

  • Book public relations involves crafting your public image and reaching out to the media, bloggers, and book reviewers. It includes press kits, interviews, and ongoing outreach. Gemini Publicity handles the details so you can focus on writing while we manage your book’s visibility.

  • A publicist for books helps you build recognition and reach. While fame isn’t guaranteed, a strong PR strategy can lead to more opportunities, more readers, and better book sales. We help authors get noticed by the right audiences through effective book publicity campaigns.

  • Tuesday is widely considered a good release day, especially in traditional publishing. However, the best day depends on your marketing plan, events, and audience habits. With our book launch publicity services, we help you choose the best timing for your book.

  • You should hire a publicist for your book at least 2–3 months before your release. This allows enough time to prepare and launch your campaign effectively. Even after your book is published, a good publicist can still support your long-term marketing efforts.
